In recent months, Dead by Daylight has started to avoid new cards for large graphic updates on existing ones, as well as recurring accessories such as lockers, pallets and generators.
It makes sense. Nobody could have predicted that the game would become one of the biggest multiplayer horror games in the history of the game, but about four years have seen it become a real mastodon, with licensed characters from SAW, Silent Hill and Stranger Things included in their own DLC chapters.
Here is the essential: four survivors are trapped in a trial with a killer denied, each bringing his own advantages and powers at the table. To escape, survivors must repair five generators around the card and open the output doors. The killer, meanwhile, must slaughter the survivors, who compensate for their lack of powers by teamwork and greater agility.
The new graphic update will be launched tomorrow, to coincide with the release of the last chapter DLC, in Binding of Kin, which includes the Siamese twins Charlotte and Victor as killers. The cards that arouse love are the Ski Resort of Ormond and the shipwreckers of Autohaven. We will also see a slight rearrangement of both cards, which will be particularly welcome for killers, because Ormond is often considered one of the most reserved maps to the survivors, alongside the field of Yakahoma and Haddonfield; In the case of Ormond, the killers have this opinion because of the high level of obstacles and loops that can be exploited by the survivors.
We also get a graphic improvement of totems - small skull and bone arrangements around the map through which killers can channel powerful HEX benefits, as ruin - that automatically register all generators when they are no longer Repaired - or Haunted Ground - which imposes the status effect exposed to all survivors once cleaned.
These graphic updates are slowly but surely deployed on all cards, but by then we can enjoy the beauty of the new cards in the meantime.
