Fans of the MMORPGSarcheage had to participate a lot lately. A new announcement of the new Publisher Aka Games is driving it for many players to the top. We believe of Mango together.
What is AAU? When the sandbox MMORPG came to the European market in 2019, the new game looked promising. Publisher Amigo took over the release in the West and tapped a plan to counteract the pay2win aspect of Acreage.
A new old game came out: Acreage Unchained. The MMORPG has been published in two versions — Free2Play and continue with Pay2Win aspects under the name Acreage and Buy2play without Pay2Win as Acreage Unchained. This decision came first well with the community.
Unchained completely renounced pay2win and offered in his real money shop largely cosmetic things and a battle-pass. The MMORPG then promised a fair buy2play experience without pay2win, monthly costs or other playful benefits (via archeagame.com).
What happened in Acreage? From December 1, both MMORPGs, so Acreage and Acreage Unchained go to the new Publisher Aka Games. These are, among other things, as a publisher of Lyon and for a long time for the MMO Black Desert.
Players must transfer their accounts and then continue to play unhindered, for the time being. But already the first announcement of the transfer caused anger in the community, as Aka announced that the houses and land of the fans does not contribute.
The players receive the items back into the inventory in their house and have to look for a new property. A fresh start for the home market of Acreage, which has disappointed many of the fans.
New announcement escalates mood in the community
What is new? On November 17, a community manager of the New Publisher posted information about Discord, who made great displeasure with the fans.
Cocoa Games announced to change the business model of Acreage Unchained from Buy2Play on Pay2play — a monthly subscription becomes a duty for all players. If you have already bought Acreage Unchained, gets 60 game days, then everyone has to pay €9.99 a month to continue playing.
The fans feel cheated: At the Discord, the announcement currently has 379 dislikes and 150 votes for the word scam, which means as much as fraud. The fans believe that they have paid for a game to play it permanently. Now suddenly monthly costs to demand, most too much.

Cocoa Games justifies this decision with the argument that one wants to further minimize the Pay2Win aspects in Unchained. But that does not seem to satisfy the bulk of the players. The User Chris writes on Facebook (via Facebook): Well, that was the reason why I did not play Acreage and unchained then bought. Im really, really angry. Nico also follows and says: Then it will finally die [Unchained]. Many of the active players have second and third accounts, which will then be eliminated. Mae Jewell is the same opinion: Thus, AAU has done for me then. You do not all have all. Why two games keep the monthly cost? That does not make sense. User Christian Otto keeps his comment soon: Rip Unchained
How is it with AAU? This will show. On Steam, the game in the last 30 days had only about 155 players on average, in the 24-hour peak even only 64 players (via steamcharts.com).
Although the game also has its own launcher, it does not seem to cause gaming numbers. The change to the subscription model could continue to shape active players and shoot the game for short or long.
What do you think of the changes in Unchained? Maybe you play still active, and will you remain an active player despite everything? Or is the situation rather from the outside? Write us in the comments here at Mango.
